About Greenacres Care Centre
12 Pearn Rd, Plymouth PL3 5JF
Opened in the 1980’s as a purpose-built home, Greenacres Care Centre was bought and fully refurbished by Mannamead Care, reopening in 2014. The home provides a high level of care, support and company in a homely environment.
Located in a quiet and private area in a leafy suburb of Plymouth, near to a variety of local convenience stores and amenities, the home is designed with space and light in mind, which offers residents with or without dementia independence within safe boundaries.
Surrounded by two and a half acres of beautifully landscaped outdoor space, with stunning, far-reaching views of Lee Moor and Cornwall, Greenacres is within a unique setting and ensures that all residents and their relatives feel comfortable and at home.
At Greenacres, we make every effort to provide each person with the care and support they need in line with their assessed needs and wishes.
With person-centred care at the forefront of our organisation, we have committed to using leading industry technology to aid staff communication, the creation of care plans, and the smooth running of daily routines – all of which aim to enhance the quality of care we provide residents. Angela is the Registered Manager for Greenacres Care Centre. Following on from a career in hospitality, Angela commenced her care career in 2008 as an Administrator for a new 34 bed nursing home. During this time, Angela quickly realised that her vocation was within the care industry enjoying all aspects of being part of a close team who thrived on a passion to enhance the lives of all the residents whom they had the pleasure to care for.
Angela became the Manager and remained in post for five years until relocating to Cornwall/Devon. Angela then became the Registered Manager for a successful Domiciliary Care Provider for seven happy years, learning and understanding the differences between homecare and care homes. Angela then chose to return back to her preferred vocation of being within a care home environment, joining our group in July 2022.
During her time working in the care industry, Angela has completed 2 NVQs in Business and Business Management, 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care and Management and an
Advanced Apprenticeship in the Social Care Framework, and in 2015 qualifying as a trainer with her Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Angela has a strong work ethos that begins with person centred care, and treating everyone equally and uniquely, coupled with that, leading with a profound respect for the team providing all the important cogs that provide a happy, safe and comfortable environment.
Angela has recently gained a Directorship of Training within the group, supporting our team with in-house training, enabling a wider span of focus trained courses, and supporting carers to feel empowered to further their careers within the industry. With the support and knowledge from Nikki Riseborough Care Coordinator, and the kindness from all the Greenacres team, Angela has settled into her role and looks forward with open arms to ensuring Greenacres is ‘home’.
