We offer 33 flats for independant living with a mixture of 1 and 2 bed units. Each has there own front door, lobby, lounge, dining room with a kitchenette and ensuite bedroom facilities. We have an onsite dining room, activity and cimema room as well as plenty of communal places to socialise.

Originally built in 1990, Mannamead Care took over and completely refurbished all accommodation in 2014, into 32 beautiful independent apartments, designed to be your brand-new home.
Specifically created for the over 55’s, the facilities and features of Greenacres Independent Living units include assisted devices to the rooms, which allow residents to keep their independence, whilst providing support and companionship. Every independent unit incorporates an open plan lounge, kitchenette, separate hallway, bedroom and bathroom, and the ground floor apartments have a terrace or deck.
Surrounded by two and a half acres of beautifully landscaped outdoor space, the apartments are the perfect place for residents to relax. We welcome all friends, families and furry friends! With a community room used to enjoy social events, as well as a cinema where films are shown every weekend, a real sense of community continues to develop, as well as new relationships and friendship groups. The monthly fee is all inclusive, including all utilities and lunch, 365 days a year; life really is made easy and enjoyable at Greenacres Independent Living.

I am absolutely delighted to be part of the team here at Mannamead Care and as the Manager for the Independent Units at Greenacres. I have been with the company for over 8 years and I can honestly say it’s the best and most rewarding job I have ever had. I live on site to provide 24/7 Warden support, and 3 days a week I also manage the Kitchen where we prepare locally sourced, fresh and delicious meals for occupants of our flats.
Greenacres Independent flats is a very special and unique place where people of latter years can simply enjoy life rather than stressing over all the things associated with living in your own property like maintenance and your personal security. We have a fantastic community of like minded people who run their own committee and come together for socialising, meals, and activities.
We offer 33 flats, varying in size and shape, with the majority being 1 bed units, although we do have several 2 bed units. They have a kitchen/food preparation area, a lobby, lounge, and en-suit shower rooms. Those on the ground floor have the benefit of patio’s, and the whole facility has wide corridors, grab rails and lifts to the first floor. Its safe, bright, well managed and cleaned daily.
Our concept is really quite straight forward, as it’s a one cost offering that pretty much covers all of your daily living costs. The one fixed monthly cost covers a 2 course meal, 365 days a year, all gas and electricity costs, water and rates. There are 4 laundry rooms to use so there is no need to have your own washing machine. You can relax in our activities area and socialise with friends, make use of our library or chill on Movie nights in our Cinema room. We clean the communal areas, and keep the entire facility clean and tidy such as the gardens, pathways and parking areas. We provide CCTV for security, and the property is secured by entry systems. Individually you have your own front door key.
We are NOT regulated by the Care Quality Commission as we offer no personal care, nor do we offer Domiciliary Care. If you require any personal care, we encourage you to work with a number of local agencies who come in daily to provide that support, much like you would do in your own home.
We are truly Independent and do all that we can to help you maintain your independence in later life so you can enjoy life. Here at Greenacres we really do have a fantastic and welcoming community and I am so happy to be a part of that.
