Originally opened in 1979 as a privately family run retirement home, Charlton House is set within a beautiful 1880 Victorian mansion, that, in recent years, has been extensively renovated, while retaining its charm and elegance.
Owned and run by Mannamead Care for over 30 years, Charlton House is situated close to the city centre, in a residential area, making it easy for residents to be part of the wider community outside of the home. The home is surrounded by attractive gardens and grounds that are regularly maintained and used for events in the warmer months. It is also located in a conservation area, near to a spacious and well-kept park; perfect for walks in the summer.
Providing a high-standard of accommodation and care, Charlton House welcomes people over 65 years of age from all walks of life, with many different needs, who want the opportunity to share and celebrate the richness and diversity of their experiences.
With person-centred care at the forefront of our organisation, we have committed to using leading industry technology to aid staff communication, the creation of care plans, and the smooth running of daily routines – all of which aim to enhance the quality of care we provide residents. Sarah Latham
I have 35 years’ experience of working within the care sector health and social care, I have worked for the company since 2013. I have progressed from a senior position to a Deputy manager at Thorn Park to the Registered manager at Charlton House. I enjoy spending time with my family including my 9 grandchildren and taking my dog Hugo on long walks.
I am very passionate about how we improve the lives of our residents. Recognizing this is their home “Our residents do not live in our workplace we work in their home”.
I am very dedicated to my role and have a open door policy for anyone to come see me at anytime.
I have a NVQ level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social care and Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social care Management, I am a Dementia Champion, and I am a Six steps champion with St Lukes End of Life.
I am very proud to have all the support of my Deputy manager Nicola McCleery and all the rest of the team at Charlton House.
At Charlton house we have an experienced team who all contribute their wealth of knowledge and skills allowing us to deliver high quality care. We will ensure that anyone that comes to live with us or stay with us will be at the heart of everything we do. Our home is filled with love and laughter and the dedicated team contributes to this daily.
